Q. Do I have to be a physical therapy major to apply? 

• A. No. The Sports Performance Scholarship is open to all students applying for graduate studies in the healthcare field. Like physical therapy graduate school applications, your major does not matter as long as you have completed the necessary prerequisites for the graduate program you are applying to. Preference is given to students pursuing the field of physical therapy, but all healthcare fields will be considered.

• A. No. It's free to apply.

Q. Why did you create the scholarship? 

• A. The scholarship was created to help students who are applying to graduate school to become healthcare professionals and give back to the Chula Vista and San Diego communities.

Q. Can I apply more than once?  

• A. No. Only one application per person is allowed.

Q. Do I need to be applying to San Diego schools only?  

• A. No. You must be from the Chula Vista or San Diego area, but not necessarily attending school locally. We encourage experiencing cities and cultures outside of Southern California. You can be open to applying and attending graduate schools outside of our local area.

Q. When will the recipient be announced?  

• A. This will vary from year to year. See the deadline and announcement information below.

Q. What if I'm in high school or have not completed my undergraduate studies, can I still apply?  

• A. No. You must be applying for graduate studies to be considered for the scholarship.

Q. What if I've already completed my undergraduate studies (gap year, non-traditional student, etc) and I'm only working on pre-requisite courses, can I still apply?  

• A. Yes. All prerequisite courses must be scheduled to be completed within the current school year, before your graduate program begins.
