Endometriosis Pain Relief in Chula Vista & San Diego

The scan was clear. The surgery went well. And you are still planning your month around two days on the sofa with a heat pack.

Hands-on physical therapy and regenerative tools for the pain endometriosis leaves behind — the scar tissue, the guarding, the hips and back that have been bracing for years. All external. One therapist, one hour, every visit.

Does any of this sound like you?

Two days a month you are no use to anyone, and the people around you have stopped asking about it.

You have had the ultrasound. Maybe the laparoscopy. Someone told you the results were fine and handed you a prescription.

The pain is not only in your pelvis any more. It is your low back. Your hip. A band across your lower stomach that never quite lets go.

You had excision surgery and it helped — for a while. Then something crept back in that nobody warned you about.

Sitting at a desk all day makes it worse. So does a hard workout. So does doing nothing.

And here you are, still dealing with it.

Why the pain can outlive the surgery

Endometriosis is a disease. A surgeon treats the disease. We are not surgeons and we do not claim to treat it.

But a condition that has caused pain for ten years does not only leave tissue behind. It leaves a body that has spent ten years working around it.

Muscles that have been guarding since your twenties. Fascia and scar tissue through the abdominal wall that has lost its glide. Hips and a low back that took over the load. A nervous system that has turned the volume up on every signal coming out of that region, because for a decade those signals mattered.

None of that shows up on the scan that came back normal. And none of it gets better on its own once the surgeon has done their part. That is the piece we work on.

What we actually work on

Everything below is done externally, by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, one-on-one.

The abdominal wall and scar tissue

Laparoscopy ports, a C-section line, the deeper layers underneath. We work on how that tissue moves and how well it glides against what sits around it.

Hips, low back and pelvis

Years of guarding changes how you load one side over the other. For a lot of women this is where most of the day-to-day pain is actually coming from.

Breathing and the diaphragm

The diaphragm and the pelvic floor work as a pair. When one stops moving properly the other rarely behaves. It is unglamorous and it changes more than people expect.

Turning the volume down

Graded, specific loading so your system stops treating ordinary movement as a threat. This is the part that makes the gains hold.

The equipment, and what it is for

We have tools here that most physical therapy clinics in San Diego do not. For this kind of problem they give us a different lever to pull — they change the tissue itself rather than training the muscle harder.

Radial pressure wave

A handheld applicator that sends pressure waves through tissue across a broader area — the lower abdomen, a surgical scar, the muscle wall. Used to improve blood flow and soften tissue that has gone stiff and fibrous. An FDA cleared radial pressure wave/EPAT device for treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Focused shockwave

The same principle, aimed deeper and far more precisely at one small target rather than a whole region.

EMTT

A magnetic field therapy. No contact and nothing to feel. Used alongside the other two to help tissue respond.

We will always tell you which one we are using, where, and why. If none of them is the right call for you, we will say that too.

More on how we use regenerative therapy.

What the first few weeks look like

1. We find out what is driving it

A full assessment with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Not fifteen minutes. How you move, how you breathe, how you load, what is tight and what is not firing. The pelvis does not work in isolation and assessing it that way is why a lot of women do not improve.

2. We treat it

Hands-on work, the equipment where it earns its place, and a short set of things to do at home that are specific to you. Not a printout.

3. We make it stick

We keep going until you are back doing the thing you stopped doing, then we show you how to hold onto it.

Most women notice something inside the first three or four weeks. How long the whole thing takes depends on how long you have had it — we will give you a straight answer after the assessment, not before it.

Being honest about fit

This is probably a fit if:

  • You are under the care of a physician for the condition itself and you want help with the pain that is left
  • You have had surgery and some of it came back, or it never fully went
  • You would rather try something conservative before the next procedure
  • You are willing to do a bit of work between visits

This is probably not a fit if:

  • You are looking for one appointment that fixes it
  • You have not yet been worked up by a physician for symptoms that need that first — we will say so, and we will tell you who to see
  • You want internal pelvic treatment. We do not perform internal exams or internal work. Everything we do is external, and if internal work is what you need we will point you to someone who does it

Questions women ask us

Can physical therapy cure endometriosis?

No, and anybody telling you otherwise is selling something. The disease is managed by your physician. What we work on is the pain, stiffness and movement restriction that the condition and its surgeries leave behind — which for a lot of women is most of what they feel day to day.

Is any of this internal?

No. We do not perform internal exams or internal treatment. The abdominal wall, the scars, the hips, the back, the breathing — it is all external work.

Does the shockwave hurt?

Most women describe it as a strong tapping. We set the intensity with you and we turn it down the moment you say so.

I have already tried pelvic floor therapy and it did not help.

That describes a lot of the women we see. Usually one of two things happened: it was all strengthening on a pelvic floor that was already too tight, or it was only ever the pelvic floor and nothing around it.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book yourself in.

Is it private?

At Chula Vista there is a private treatment room. Kearny Mesa has an open floor. Tell us which you would prefer when you call and we will book you accordingly.

Start with a phone call. Not an appointment.

A free 15-minute discovery call with a member of our team. You tell us what has been going on. We tell you honestly whether we think we can help, and if we cannot, who you should be talking to instead.
