You’ve been told it’s normal. It isn’t — and you don’t have to live with it.
For women in Chula Vista, Kearny Mesa and San Diego who are done being told that leaking, pain, or a body that doesn’t feel like theirs again is just part of having kids, getting older, or being a woman.
Does any of this sound like you?
And here you are, still dealing with it.
Why “just do your Kegels” often makes it worse
The muscles of the pelvic floor are supposed to do three things. Squeeze. Let go completely. And give a little when you bear down.
Most women we see have no trouble squeezing. The problem is the letting go.
Those muscles have been gripping for years — through pregnancy, through surgery, through pain, through stress — and they’ve forgotten how to release.
So when a woman whose pelvic floor is already too tight is told to go home and squeeze it a hundred more times a day, she gets worse. More pain. More urgency. More of the thing she came in about.
That’s the piece that gets missed. It’s why a lot of women decide this doesn’t work for them, when really they were given the wrong instruction.
We work on what drives that tightness from the outside in — the hips, the abdominal wall, the scar tissue, the low back, and how you breathe. No internal work.
What we actually do
We’re a physical therapy practice. Everything here is done by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, one-on-one, for a full hour.
The work is hands-on and specific to you. But we also have three pieces of equipment that most clinics in San Diego don’t have — and for this kind of problem, they change what’s possible.
What they have in common is that they change the tissue itself — circulation, mobility, how well scar glides — rather than just training the muscle harder. For a woman whose problem is tight, stuck, poorly supplied tissue, that is a different lever than the one she’s had pulled before.
We’ll always tell you which of the three we’re using, on what, and why.
What we help with
Postpartum is forever. There is no window that closes on this. We’ve helped women six weeks out and women sixteen years out.
Where we go deeper
Four of the things we see most often, each with a page of its own explaining what we look for and what the plan actually looks like.
Endometriosis pain
The scan was clear and the surgery went well, and you are still planning your month around two days on the sofa.
Bladder leakage and urgency
Why more Kegels often makes it worse, and how to tell which of the two problems you actually have.
Diastasis recti and C-section scar
Why the size of the gap matters far less than what the tissue across it can do under load.
Tailbone pain
From a fall, a delivery, or a chair and a decade. One of the most treatable problems we see.
What happens when you come in
Who this is for, and who it isn’t
- You’ve had this a while and you’re tired of being told it’s normal
- You want to understand what’s causing it, not just manage it
- You’d rather try something conservative before surgery
- You’re willing to do a bit of work between visits
- You’re looking for a single appointment that fixes it
- You want a device you sit on for twenty minutes with nothing else involved
- You haven’t yet been checked out by a physician for symptoms that need that first — we’ll say so, and tell you who to see
We don’t bill insurance for you. We’ll go through everything on the call so there are no surprises.
