Crossover Symmetry Scapular Activation

March 6, 2016 Posted by Dr. Christopher Garcia, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, USAW Injury Prevention, Shoulder, Warm Up & Mobility

The crossover symmetry can be an effective tool for athletes. Maximize your shoulder health and neuromuscular control with these corrections. The purpose of going through these movements is to prepare, improve or fine tune mechanics of the glenohumeral joint and scapula-thoracic complex. As such, avoid using just your rear deltoid or global shoulder unit. Instead, focus on cueing your middle and lower trapezius prior to the initiation of the movement.
