CrossFit Open 16.1 Warm Up and Mobility

February 26, 2016 Posted by Dr. Christopher Garcia, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, USAW CrossFit, Injury Prevention, Recovery Techniques, Warm Up & Mobility

The CrossFit Games Open 16.1 will require shoulder stability, lower body strength and a lot of lung capacity. Prepare yourself with these warm up and mobility drills to maximize your performance. Using a wider grip with overhead lunges can be used as a strategy for those with thoracic and shoulder mobility restrictions. Conversely, a narrow grip can be used for those who are weak in shoulder stability. Be sure to activate your lats and scapular muscles in the overhead position to be able to control CTB pull ups. And most importantly, listen to your body, know your limits and have fun! Good luck from #SportsPerformancePT !

16.1 Open WOD (20 minute AMRAP):

25ft OH Walking Lunges

8 Bar Facing Burpees

25ft OH Walking Lunges

8 Chest to Bar Pull Ups
